Cloud
computing, usually called “the cloud” involves delivering data, applications,
photos, videos and other information over the Internet to data centers. IBM has
divided cloud computing into six different categories. They are the following:

Software as a service. Cloud-based applications run on computers in the cloud,
the companies that offer these services operate through a browser.
*
Platform as a service. Here, the cloud contains absolutely everything you need
to build and maintain cloud-based applications. This eliminates the need to buy
additional software and hardware.
*
Infrastructure as a service. Infrastructure as a service provides servers,
memory, networks and data centers.
*
Public cloud. Companies operate over these spaces and provide quick access to
users over a public network.
*
Private cloud. Similar to the public cloud with the difference that only one
identity (user, company, organization) has access.
*
Hybrid cloud. It has the same bases of a private cloud but provides access to a
public cloud.
As
we have seen, the Internet of things and cloud computing are different, but
everyone will have their own work in addressing this new world of data.
