The Internet of things is a concept that refers to the digital interconnection of everyday objects with the Internet that facilitate the collection of data from portable medical devices, cars, appliances to home attendants But all the information that is collected has to be stored in somewhere, you know which one? The Internet of Things (IoT) is generating an unprecedented amount of data. Something that puts great pressure on the Internet infrastructure. Companies are working to find ways to relieve that pressure and solve the data problem. Cloud computing is going to make all connected devices work together.

Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing, usually called “the cloud” involves delivering data, applications, photos, videos and other information over the Internet to data centers. IBM has divided cloud computing into six different categories. They are the following:

* Software as a service. Cloud-based applications run on computers in the cloud, the companies that offer these services operate through a browser.

* Platform as a service. Here, the cloud contains absolutely everything you need to build and maintain cloud-based applications. This eliminates the need to buy additional software and hardware.

* Infrastructure as a service. Infrastructure as a service provides servers, memory, networks and data centers.

* Public cloud. Companies operate over these spaces and provide quick access to users over a public network.

* Private cloud. Similar to the public cloud with the difference that only one identity (user, company, organization) has access.

* Hybrid cloud. It has the same bases of a private cloud but provides access to a public cloud.

 

As we have seen, the Internet of things and cloud computing are different, but everyone will have their own work in addressing this new world of data.

Role of cloud computing in IoT

In a decade, Cloud computing has begun to change the way businesses and businesses work and have helped connect the world in an expanding market.

The cloud is making possible new functions that revolutionize technology, these features of the Internet of things are expanding rapidly and driving innovation in the cloud computing industry.

Cloud computing and the Internet of things serve to increase efficiency in our daily tasks, and both have a complementary relationship.

 IoT generates massive amounts of data, and cloud computing provides a way for data to travel to its destination. With a master's degree in IoT the student will have the ability to design and implement solutions and products of this type.
